I know that this subject has been touched on before, but would like to
inquire further on the subject. Does anyone have practical experience
with an Exabyte 8505 as a device for backing up, or archiving Flyer drives?
An indication of real world speeds would be handy. Are there any other
alternatives that I should consider?

Wouldn't it be nice if NewTek (Tim!) could produce a small interface to
`dock' harddrives to camera bodies, that would then record using Flyer
compression formats, and then be hooked back in to the Flyer system. The
proposed system for interfacing and portability with PC's and Amiga's is
nice as a field editor, but a dockable harddrive would be nicer for
shooting in the field.
